DD Proves Popular in Guernsey

Earlier this year we sent a couple of our DD sails to Guernsey Sailing Trust (GST) to use in their school and now that the season is drawing to a close they sent us this feedback.

Two DDs ready for action!

Hot Sails Maui DD – Review by GST

“Thank you to all at Hot Sails Maui for making it possible for us to use these brilliant sails this season.

One word says it all… QUALITY! Even down to the detailing on the sail bag. There are some really nice touches on the sail from; the sailmakers leather, the stitching and use of different materials. A very well put together sail.

All that have used the rig have come back with good reports, light in the hands and nice and responsive. It’s been used in light wind pottering about sessions and also in high wind sessions. The sail has proved to be stable and has seen many of our smaller sailors planning and in the harness for the first time. The DD has been a popular sail and always leaves the truck first… all the kids want to sail them!

The only way I could justify trying the Hot Sails Maui was if the price could be matched to the other sails that we use. With some help this was accomplished…  and I think the Hot Sails Maui DD is very good value for the product you get...

A brilliant and well designed sail that sets beautifully. One of the nicest things is all the attention to detail. It’s proved itself over the season to be ideal for what we do and the kids just love to sail with both the 3.8m and 4.8m DDs.”

Thanks to Rich Klein, Chief Instructor at Guernsey Sailing Trust for his comments. Special thanks also to Matt Le Poidevin for helping to make this happen.
