"Epic". It's an adjective used all too frequently by windsurfers to the point of being diluted drastically in its emotional impact and potency. At the beach, we've all heard the droning of some hyper-stoked, Redbull-addled sailor exclaiming to anyone within earshot "Dude! (Bro, Brah, Bru are also acceptable) You should have seen it yesterday! It was epic!". The minutiae of wind direction, chop size, current vector and impossibly radical maneuvers stomped get relayed with an overly ardent yet impact-less delivery. In response to this monologue (or "bromologue"), the captive audience's eyes glass over, shoulders slump a little in awkward discomfort, and heads nod vaguely in mock interest to this typically overblown session summary.

Testing times for the GPS 2013

With Spring fast approaching sail development is in full swing at Hot Sails Maui. Tom and the team have been working on the 2013 version of the GPS for a little while now.

Escape to Paradise (The Video)

Check out Diony's latest adventure in this interesting video as he goes in search of crystal clear waters and the island paradise not too far from him home.

Now back in the US Diony will be appearing at a FREE WINDSURF CLINIC for kids in Miami this weekend before arriving in Maui next week, we look forward to welcoming back to the island and starting the production of his next video.

Diony's sail of choice is the new Firelight which at 2.7kg for a 4.7m will significantly change the wave you think about wave sailing.

FREE Windsurf Clinic for KIDS (Miami)

We are extremely pleased to announce that our newest retailer ADVENTURE SPORTS MIAMI will be holding a FREE kids clinic this weekend featuring our PWA Pro Team rider Diony! What have Trains, Football Stadiums & the BOLT got in Common?

Outside sponsorship has been hard to come by in recent years so it is always great to see companies getting involved with windsurfing. Last Autumn our Swedish team rider Markus Rydberg was approached by Gothia Financial Group who wanted to run an advertising campaign and feature windsurfing because of its extreme action sports image. The campaign was run in a Swedish lifestyle magazine XPRESS (which is provided onboard trains and at station platforms) as well as on screen at some national football (soccer) matches. It is great to see that so many non windsurfers were exposed to our wonderful sport.

Sick looking SuperFreak!

Every day a new SuperFreak design is born, this is really exciting and it is always great to see what our customers request and we must all thank Glenn our graphic designer who works tirelessly to ensure that sailors around the world get their SuperFreak just how they want it! With way over 1000 designs already in existence you would think that we've seen it all before but that it certainly not true and there are limitless variations possible.

The designs highlighted today really stood out from the crowd so I thought it was only right that I shared them with the blog readers. The initial idea for these came from our South African importer (David) but as these designs developed Hot Sails Maui front man Jeff decided that he and 8yr old Dax should have something new so Glenn crafted a Maui Edition and a MicroFreak to match based on David's initial ideas, I think that you will agree these are SICK looking sails!

Jeff's new Superfreak Maui Ed. is currently being made in the factory!

Our Swedish importer Jesper was recently in Maui and just sent us this fun video in which his daughter Tora documents his fun sessions and life in Maui. For those of you enjoying the cold winter in Europe this should provide you with some inspiration to save up some cash and book a ticket to a warmer climate!

Diony's Los Roques Island Adventure

Got SNOW?

Hot Sails Maui Latvian team rider Krish scored some epic autumn sessions on the water but finally the snow has arrived and it is time to try new things. Last week the picture of Krish snow surfing was the most talked about image on our Facebook page so we asked him to write a post about converting a snowboard.
